Sikkim is 7096 square miles in area and contains Mount khanchendzong, the third highest peak in the world. Formerly a kingdom, since 1975 it has been a tiny land-locked state of India. Three ethnic communities-Bhutias, Lepchas and the Nepalese intermingling lives in harmony through out the culture and environment rich Sikkim. The climate varies between the tropical heat of the valleys and the alpine cold of the snowy regions. The altitudinal zone of vegetation range in tropical, sub tropical, temperate to alpine. Some places, just in a matter of one hour topography changes from hot low lying area to severe cold alpine zone.
In some accessible tourists spots, snow lasts till the end of June in some high places. Sikkim is considered a hot spot of biodiversity in the Eastern Himalaya.
Day 01: Bagdogra to Gangtok
On reaching Bagdogra , the group will move forward to Gangtok. Lunch shall be served on the way. On reaching Gangtok, the group would rest for some time, have lunch and later explore MG Marg at evening. Now we shall return back to hotel for dinner and go off to bed.
Day 02: Gangtok-Tsomgom lake-Gangtok
Today we wake up early morning and start our trip towards the Tsomgo Lake and New Baba Mandir. This is the time when the team may experience snow. If we are lucky, during that time of the year there is also a chance of receiving snow fall. Lunch shall be served on the way. After all day of fun, now is the time when we start our tour back to Gangtok. Later check-in the hotel and have the scrumptious dinner. Now is the time when the group goes for a much needed sleep.
Day 03: Gangtok Sightseeing
Today we shall explore Bakthang Waterfalls, Tashi View Point, Plantation Nursery, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower Show, Ropeway, Tibetology Museum & Chorten Stupa. We shall return back to hotel and enjoy our last night at Hotel. After dinner we shall pack our bags since we need to leave early the next day morning.
Day 4: Gangtok-Darjeeling
We shall wake up early today and post breakfast we shall move to Buddha Park situated at Ravangla for shoot. En route we visit Tista River for a thrilling experience of white water rafting. Upon arrival in Darjeeling we visit Mahakal Temple.
Day 5: Darjeeling
Today early morning we visit Tiger Hill to enjoy a mesmerising sunrise on the Kanchenjunga Ranges. Followed by a visit to Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Batasia Loop, Ghoom Monastery, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Zoological Park and Tenzing Rock. Later we visit the Tea Estates where we get to click photos in the tea garden as well as taste local Darjeeling Tea. In the evening, we enjoy some free time for shopping.
Day 6: Darjeeling – Bagdogra – Departure
It’s time now to say goodbye to our travel companions. Let’s stay in touch with each other through email, phone, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and meet again on yet another memorable tour. See you all!!
