Bhuranghati Chandernahan lake trek

 

It is one of the most beautiful trek of Himachal Prdaesh. Buran Ghati is a famous trek within the trekking world with end number of mind-boggling sites on the trail. This trek will surely refresh you with different landscapes it has to offer. shepherd’s route connects Pabbar valley of Shimla to Baspa valley of Kinnaur. Other two passes in the same mountain range that connect these two valleys are the Guna Pass and Rupin Pass. The Buran valley in fact runs parallel to the Rupin valley. They are separated by just one cliff range. Best time to do the Buran Ghati trek in the mighty Dhauladhar ranges of Himachal Pradesh is summer or autumn. Rappelling down a vertical snow wall and sliding in snow is possible in the summer months of April-June. In the autumn months of September-October, the ice has melted and the Pass is descended over a slightly tricky stone trail. Both the seasons have contrasting but equally beautiful landscapes

Itinerary:

Day 1: Reach Janglik, 10-11 hrs.

On arrival at Shimla you will be met by our representative at bus stand and transfer you to Janglikh. Drive through the beautiful valley, en-route Khadapathar or via Narkanda and Rohru.

The journey to Janglikh will take 8-9 hours.

After briefing, camp overnight at Janglikh village.

The day ends with the bonfire, dinner.

Day 2: Janglik to Dayara Thatch, 5-6hrs.

Start leisurely.

One can explore the village. The village is pure heritage and full of photographers delight.

After breakfast trek towards Dayara Thach.

The trek winds through the thick forests, beautiful meadows and grassy land ascents.

It’s a moderate trek, takes around 4-5 hours to reach Dayara Thach.

Dinner and night stay at beautiful meadow Dayara Thach.

Day 3: Dayara Thatch to Litham, 3-4 hrs.

Start your day exploring the Dayara meadows.

This trek promises you thick forest cover, fast gushing streams, meadows and an altitude of 737 feet within 3 hours.

Through the Gunas Pass, snow clad Dhaulandhar range, Silver Birch leads you to the first clear view of Litham.

Cross the Chandranahan stream to reach our Litham campsite. Relax with the best spot on the camp to enjoy the rest of the evening in the laps of nature.

Three sided view of Litham makes it all the more picturesque. Chandranahan Waterfalls on your left followed by Chandranahan Lake and the snow clad mountains

Day 4: Acclimatization day, visit to Chandranahan Lake, 6-7 hrs.

Chandranahan Lake constitutes of glacier tarn perennial snow flanks from its surrounding mountains.

Take the shepherds trail to reach to top of the waterfall.

Chandranahan Lake take another 1 hours time to reach from the waterfalls.

This lake promises you the view of a nestled bowl like glacial amphitheatre. Enjoy the snow and beautiful stone cairns before descending to Litham.

Day 5: Litham to Dhunda, 6-7hrs.

There is again a climb for at least 3 hours. One is able to see Dhauladhar range on the trail with Pass called the Gunas. Rupin valley is situated in the right and Litham grasslands are located finely at the left. The combination is very natural and stunning just like watching the wallpaper. This is the place where you can get a clear view of the Buran Ghati. The camping is the Alpine mountains.

Day 6: Dhunda to River Camp via Buran Ghati pass, 10-11 hrs.

Buran Ghati Pass which is at the altitude of 4600m.

With the delightfully breakfast we will be starting our longest trekking destination that one has to reach on 10-14 hours. Buran Ghati is normally 15,000 feet up and the wind at that level is very cold. Thus, it is called a thrilling climb. One has to be careful about the climb as it is a series of descents for long-long hour. The descent is very high and cannot be gathered around without the rope and ice axe. The last walk is a way to bit risky and steep. With the Delicious Dinner, Over night stay at River Camp.

Day 7: River camp to Barua village and Departure from Barua village, 4Hrs

After Brekfast trek upto the Baura village and then take cab to Shimla 7-8 hours drive and end of your memorable trip.
