BOATING AT TATTAPANI

Recently, The State Government has notified new spots for adventure activities, they have planned to open a floating restaurant at Tattapani and paragliding at various locations including Kullu, Chamba, Mandi, Kangra, Shimla.

Boating is one of the most unique experience you’ll get yourself into and the best part is that it is suitable and ideal for all age groups. Boating in tattapani, Tattapani is a village in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh which is 50 km from Shimla.

Between October to November is the best time for this water activity. You can either go for motorboating or paddle boating.

CANYONING AT VASHIST

Vashist is hardly 3 km away from Manali in Himachal Pradesh across the River Beas. It is a fun water activity that includes climbing, jumping, sliding and many more. And like any other water activity, it requires special types of equipment and make sure you follow all the necessary precautions.

The best month for this activity is from September to June.

WATER ACTIVITY AT MAHARANA PRATAP SAGAR

Maharana Pratap Sagar is a reservoir also known as the Pong Dam lies in the southwest of Kangra district and is to offer various water sports activities like Rowing, Sailing, Water skiing, Boat riding and many such water activities to the tourists, it is well-equipped with modern equipments and Pong dam Centre also conducts trainings in water safety and rescue operations.

The regional water sports centre at Pong dam is functioning under the Directorate of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali.

One can spot various species of birds in and all around the reservoir.

WATER ROCK CLIMBING

With so much variety in water sports activities here, water-rock climbing is another activity that is performed in a small village Vashist, in the Kullu district. Water rock climbing is thrilling and it requires great strength, physical and mental strength both. Apart from the challenging experience, the pleasant weather and the peaceful green environment is like a desirable addition.

The best month for this activity is April-mid June as the rainy season and bad weather can make the activity more difficult and less enjoyable.

FISHING IN KASOL

Fishing is always a peaceful, relaxing activity and the beautiful ambience of hills and greener environment makes this activity tremendously favourable, making sure you’re patient enough. Kasaol is in the Kullu district and and situated on the banks of the Parvati River. You can enjoy fishing at the Parvati valley for as many hours depending on you.

The best month for this activity is from April to November. Happy fishing!

WATER SPORTS AT GOBIND SAGAR LAKE IN BILASPUR

Gobind Sagar lake is a man-made reservoir situated in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh and is on the River Sutlej. It is in collaboration with the Directorate Tourism and Directorate in Mountaineering and Allied sports. It is well-known for its variety of flora and fauna and also several species of fishes are found here.

The best month to visit is from March to October.

One can enjoy multiple sports activities in the reservoir like surfing, canoeing, swimming, rowing, rafting and many more.

Boat races are also conducted on the Pong dam and on Govind Sagar Lake for experienced water sports individual.

HOT SPRING BATH

Hot water spring in Himachal Pradesh is where you can bathe in any season, any season is appropriate and suitable for this, it is present at various locations, not only these places look scenic but the water is considered to be therapeutic by the locals, that tend to treat skin ailments. Have a look at a few of the most famous hot water springs in Himachal Pradesh that can refresh your mind –

  • Hot springs at Manikaran, located in the Kullu district, positioned on the banks of river Parvati.

HIKING AND TREKKING

The main difference between hiking and trekking is that Hiking is a short day hike or overnight hiking, whereas Trekking is of usually more than two days.

Himachal Pradesh is known for its adventurous and daring treks, though there is a difference in the difficulty level of treks. A few of the popular treks are Parvati Pass, Hampta Pass, Kheerganga Trek, Triund Trek and many such. Trekking in Himachal Pradesh is accessible in the months of March to September.

SNOWBOARDING

The Skii season starts from December till March.

Rohtang pass where there is snowfall heavily, Kufri, Solang, Narkanda are some best destinations for skiing.

SKIING

Himachal Pradesh which is usual covered with snow most of the year, skiing is one of the most famous activities performed by end numbers of tourists. November to February are the best month to go for skiing, sliding on the beautiful slope of Himachal and experiencing the adrenaline rush of this sport. Some of the best skiing destinations in Himachal Pradesh are –

  • Narkanda – It is situated on the Hindustan Tibet road. Skiing is available between December to February months.
  • Solang Nala – It is located 13 km from Manali and offers skiing from October till March.
RIVER RAFTING

River rafting is a fatiguing water sport activity, which needs to be done under proper precautions and safety measures. The best time for river rafting in Himachal is from October to May. Some of the best river rafting can be experienced in many spots of Himachal including Manali, Kullu, Shimla and many more.

ATV QUAD BIKING RIDE

One can do Quad Biking in both summers and winters. It is a great experience to enjoy the ride Either with experienced/ trained drivers or if you’re confident about your driving and want to test it you can also ride it by yourself. It is available for both single and multiple seats.

Kullu, Solang valley, Shimla (Mashobra) are some of the best places for Quad Bike Riding.

MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDING

If you’re passionate about riding in unexplored places, you have come to the right place. It’s one of the ferocious activities you’ll indulge yourself in. There are many places, for instance, Kangra valley, Shimla-Manali-Leh route, Spiti valley covering villages, remote valleys, mountain ranges and many more. Its advised to choose the trails as per your skill level.

Summers are considered to be the best season for mountain bike riding.

ROCK CLIMBING

Autumn in the best season for rock climbing, In rainy season rocks are generally slippery, so any sunny day will be suitable for rock climbing.

Climbing at an elevated area requires physical strength and stamina, make sure you’re ready for this activity and enthusiastic enough. The mountain ranges of Pir Panjal, Dhauladhar are the best places to enjoy rock climbing. Other than that, it requires proper training, based on your capacity and capability you can choose your way of rock climbing.

  • For beginners – Friendship Peak and Patalsu Peak is most considerate. The best month is between June – October.
  • For trained/experts – Seven sisters (Manali) and Beas Kund are some thrilling spots.
MOUNTAINEERING

It’s pleasant to go for mountaineering in Autumn, late springs and summers. March to September is the ideal time. Winter is too harsh and risky for mountaineering.

  • Leo Pargil – The peak is around 1978 m high and is located around the Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh.
  • Maninahesh Kailash – It is located in the Bharmour division of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, the peak is at a height of 5653 m.
