Parang La (5600 m) connects Spiti to Ladakh and is a high altitude challenging trek of over 100 kms distance.The trip starts from Manali, includes visit to Chandertaal, drive to Kibber,Ki, Kaza, Langza, Hikkim, Komic and Chicham over Kunzum La.The trek starts from Chicham and culminates at the village Karzok by Tso Moriri, Ladakh. The trail is rich in exotic wildlife such as the Himalayan snow leopard, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Thar etc. the trail passes through the Rupshu plains of the Changthang Plateau, which also the eastern-most tip of the Tibetan Plateau. Karzok is one of the highest villages in the world at 4595 meters. Karzok is connected by road to Leh. The unique highlights of the trek are high altitude passes, high altitude mountain desert, different valleys and glacial lakes along with a road tip through Spiti and visiting remote villages and monastaries. It is a trip that includes adventure in many forms.

There are a number of places nearby where you can feel enchanted and amused. You can roam around the nearby villages, and visit the numerous famous monasteries. Lamayuru Monastery and Diskit Gompa are some of the most visited ones. The photographer’s paradise, The beautiful Nubra Valley will take your breathe away. The nearby located magnetic hill is a drive away. No one leaves Ladakh without seeing the Pangong Lake, the blue sapphire lake. Turtuk and Bordang have nearby located ruined palaces, exciting to visit. They are 150 km away from Leh and can be easily reached by taxi. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Leh Royal Palace are must-visit places.

Best time to visit:
Spiti Valley is situated in Leh, so it is automatically a really cold place to start with. The best months to trek the place are considered to be a period from May to September. It is because these months are comparatively warm, water lines are not frozen, the trek paths are not covered in snow, and hotels are open for tourists.
Weather Conditions:
The temperature in Spiti Valley in the period of May to September reach up to 20 degrees Celsius with the minimum temperature of 9 or 10 degrees Celsius. The nearby places like Tabo, Batal, Chandratal, and Hansa get really chilly and windy with the temperature getting as low as 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the same period from May to September.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi or Chandigarh airport. Drive to Manali.
Arrive at Delhi or Chandigarh airport. Pickup and drive to Manali by private car. Arrive at Manali, check into hotel. Its 14-15 hrs drive from Delhi airport and its 7-8 hrs drive from Chandigarh airport to Manali.
Day 02: Manali to Rohtang la (3978m) – Kunzom la (4551m) – Kaza (3600m), 9-10 hrs
Today an early departure from Manali, Over land journey by jeep over Rohtang pass 3978 mtrs. Rohtang pass, which is the gateway to Lahoul –Spiti, Pangi and Zanskar. Along the Chandra River valley for 3-4 hrs until reaching Batal. Magnificent view of snow capped mountain of C.B. Ranges and Bara Shigri Glacier. These ranges are part of Great Himalayan range. Passing through Kunzum la (4551m) we arrive at first village of Spiti called Losar (4’000m). By the evening arrival at Kaza. Kaza is a sub-headquarter of Spiti region. Check into hotel, rest and relax.
Day 03: Kaza to Kyi – Kibber (4,205m) – Dumla (4080m)
Today leaving Kaza short drive to Kyi 6 -7 kms. Visit the monastery and Continue drive to Kibber and further to Chichim – Dumla. Dumla is short after Pari Lungbi gorge. Setting off from here first short descent to Dumla through fields of Barley than gradual ascent arrival on a ridge, from where splendid and spectacular view of Shilla Peak 6303m. Camping in Dumla
Day 04: Trek to Thaltak( 4640 m)
In the beginning of today’s trek You will first descend from the gorge bed and ascend towards the Thaltak Meadow from Dumla. Alive with wild visions of deep gorges of Spiti River, Thaltak makes for a thrilling place to camp for the night.
Day- 05: Trek to Jagtha (4850m) – Bonrojen (5100m), 7-8 hrs
Now trail descend 400 mtrs. Down to Parilungla Chu. Cross the river, Climb to saghthag over moraine stretch. Further gradual and exhausting climb to reach the glaciated valley, one to the north and one to the south. Follow the moraine stretch towards north and then arrive at Jaghta at as altitude of 4850m and continue 6 kms trek to Bonrojen camping.
Day 06: Trek to Dak Karzong – Datang yongma (4900m) cross Parang la (5560 m), 8-9 hrs
An eventful day for those who have never climbed this height Before. From camp climb up gradually to Parangla on patches of snow panoramic views of Peaks of Ladakh, Lahoul and Spiti for below in the NW you can see the Pare chu river which is the only river originated in India.Descend and following the left site of river arrive at campsite of Kharsa Gongma. The Dak Karzong is at short distance from Datang yongma campsite.
Day 07: Trek to Chumik Shilde 16 kms 5-6 hrs
Today, we follow the trail to Racholemo (14000 ft.) then NorbuSumdo (14400 ft.) and across to ChumikShilde, all of which make you want to celebrate nature like never before.
Start early, as the winds can be strong in the afternoons.
Day 08: Chumik shilde- Tso moriri lake 14kms 5-6 hrs
Today you will see the most pleasant site of the trek near Blue Lake Tso Moriri.The oval-shaped lake here breaks into several channels to create a vast wetland, the breeding ground of several rare species of birds. So if you’re a bird watcher, then this is your migratory haven!
Day 9: Tso moriri to Karzok 15kms 6-7 hrs
This day is most scenic as the most memorable scenery you’re going to see in your lifetime is around the corner.
Brace yourself, because as you walk along Lake Tso Moriri, the view of LungserKangri, the highest accessible peak at 6666m in Ladakh is unbelievable. Few people in the world get a chance to see this magnificent site.
To top it all, you can visit the ancient monastery in Karzok, where the Changpas roam the pastures with their flocks of pashmina goats and still live in yak-skin yurts. This is where your Parang La trek ends.
Day 10: Karzok-Leh
Leave by Jeep to Leh and stay at Hotel in Leh .End of the tour
