Seven Lakes of Dhauladhar trek

Seven Lakes trek is one of the most beautiful trek in Dhauladhar Range. It Is Challenging trek covering two high passes Indrahar Pass and Minkiani Pass .There are two high Camps in this trek at an Altitude of 4000 metres so you need good weather conditions to do this trek. During the trek you visit Seven Glacial lakes situated in the lap of dhauladhar Mountains each one of them is very Spiritual. The trek is also considered as pilgrimage as local villagers come to take a holy dip in the lakes on Janamashtami the Birthday of Lord Krishna in the month of August/September.

Best Time: May-June , September-October

Trek type: Strennous

Distance : 45kms

Weather: In Summer time the temperature is 20 Degrees in Day time at Snowline and Lahesh Cave.In evening temeprature drops to 9-10 degrees. In Indrahar pass and Minkiani pass Temperature is 5-7 degrees only and if the weather is cloudy it can drop to 0 degrees.

Preparation : You must have done few treks before of Altitude 3000-4000 metres. You should have good physical fitness and carrying weight capacity at least 12 kgs in your backpack .It will keep you in good endurance. Walking long distances walk upto 10-12 kms is also required.

Itinerary:-

Day 1: Mcleodganj – Triund

Meet our Expert Guide and Start trek from Mcleodganj to Triund(2875 m) and overnight stay in tents.

Day 2: Triund – Lahesh Caves

After breakfast Trek to Lahesh Caves(3350 m),Via Laka Glacier and reach by evening In the caves.

Day 3:Lahesh Caves – Nag Dal 

Early Morning after breakfast ascent to Indrahar pass(4350 m) It will take 4-5 Hours to reach the top.Visit the temple and see the beautiful view of Manimahesh kailash Mountain,Tent Peak,Barakanda,Chobia pass etc and then trek to Sacred Nag Dal Lake and camp there for overnight.

Day 4: Nag Dal- Nagara Camp

Trek to Lamdal Via Nag dal pass it is uphill trek on boulders for two hours and then trek to Dham ghori lake.From here trek is downhill on boulders which is quite tiring for your knees and joints as you jump from one to Another and you have to balance on them. Reaching Chanderkup lake and then to continue trek to Lam Dal lake (4100 mtres).

By evening we will reach to sukh Dali and take night hault at Nagara camp. .

Day 5: Nagara Camp – Kareri Lake

After breakfast cross the water coming from lakes and trail goes uphill for 2 Hours to Minkiani pass at an altitude of 4275 metres .Rest for few minutes and take photographs. Now trek is all the way downhill upto Kareri Lake(3200 m) .Night stay At kareri lake. .

Day 6: Kareri Lake – Kareri

Trek to Kareri Village 3-4 hours, take cab to Dharamshala and end of your memorable trip.
